Achieving The Right Look

The intial design template may go through a number of changes before it is finished. Not only must the layout be attractive, but it also must be functional and ready to be turned into a template for use on the remaining pages that will make up your website.

The truth is many websites are defective because of initial design flaws that follow through to the rest of the site. If you have a good base to work from, you can avoid many pitfalls such as broken or lost links and pages with little and disorganized content.

Designing the initial page template

When designing the concept layout, it helps to be thinking in terms of the home page. The home page will be the first page a visitor will see (minus a splash screen or intro) so it must be appealing and must load fast.
